Centennial Gala Concert

Sunday, May 17th, 2026 at 3 PM in the Rose Theater in Jazz at Lincoln Center

Celebrating the world’s longest running classical music competition. A century of artistic discovery, support and performance.

The Brentano Quartet (1995 Chamber Music Award) will be joined by Lucy Shelton (1980 Vocal Award and 1977 Chamber Music Award with the Jubal Trio) and will present the world premiere of a work for string quartet and narrator by Steven Mackey. This work was commissioned to honor Naumburg’s longtime Executive Director Lucy Rowan Mann who passed away in January, 2022.

The Emerson String Quartet (1978 Chamber Music Award) will be making a celebratory reunion on this historic occasion.
