In Memoriam │ June 20, 1921 – January 16, 2022
Lucy Rowan Mann, indomitable spirit, who worked side by side with the love of her life Robert Mann, nurturing and guiding generations of Naumburg Award Winners since the early 1970s, has gone to her rest.
Her brilliance at the helm of the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation was renowned and she leaves a legacy of innovative and enduring leadership. It was through her focus and passionate intensity that Naumburg procured over four million dollars for the endowment.
This past October 8, at age 100, she was front and center at a Gala concert in Town Hall celebrating Naumburg’s 50 years of chamber music.
Our loss is profound, but we are the lucky ones to have loved and been loved so deeply by Lucy, who has always been a source of joy and inspiration to so many.
