Shengyu Meng is a cellist pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where she studies with Clive Greensmith.
As a performing artist, Shengyu plays a wide range of music. She is currently a member of the Colburn Baroque ensemble. An active performer of the Recovered Voices (music by composers whose careers and lives were tragically cut short by the Nazi regime in Europe). As an educator, Shengyu has taught many students from low-income families for free over the years.
Shengyu won prizes in major competitions, including the Burbank Philharmonic Young Artist Competition, the Stulberg International String Competition, and the Ronald Sachs International Music Competition.
She was a performer on the From The Top show and the winner of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award in 2019.
She has performed as a soloist with the Colburn School Orchestra, Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, Topanga Symphony and Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra.
