Praised for his musical sincerity and fiery stage presence, violinist Jason Moon is an emerging artist who finds inspiration in everything from Fritz Kreisler to Queen. Recipient of the 2024 Frances Rosen Violin Prize from the Colburn School and founding violinist and violist of Trio Caspar, Jason leads a multi-faceted career as soloist and chamber musician, driven by a deep musical curiosity and love of collaboration.
As a soloist, Jason has won numerous competitions, including the Hellam Young Artists’ Competition, Hennings-Fischer Young Artist Competition, and Colburn Conservatory Concerto Competition, and is a prize winner of the Seoul International Music Competition. Most recently, he was selected as a 2026 Young Talent of Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot. He has appeared with the San Francisco Symphony, Springfield Symphony, and Burbank Philharmonic, among others.
A passionate collaborative musician, Jason is a founding member of Trio Caspar, winner of the Gold Medal, Horszowski Trio Prize, and Lift Every Voice Prize at the 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Trio Caspar has just recorded their debut album, which will be released on the Delos recording label in November 2026.
Jason has also performed chamber music around the world alongside renowned artists including Gidon Kremer, Gary Hoffman, Gautier Capuçon, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and Rachel Podger. He has appeared at several summer festivals, including Kronberg Academy’s Chamber Music Connects the World, Music@Menlo, and Yellow Barn. He has also performed as baroque violinist with Juilliard415 and the Colburn Baroque Ensemble.
A Bay Area native, he studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College with Wei He before earning his Bachelor of Music from the Juilliard School under Li Lin. He recently completed Master of Music and Artist Diploma degrees at the Colburn School under Martin Beaver, and is currently a Rebanks Fellow at the Glenn Gould School.

Bogang Hwang

South Korean pianist Bogang Hwang has developed a career in solo and chamber performance. She won first prize at the 2024 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition and second prize at the William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition that year. Her orchestral appearances include performances with the Colburn Orchestra under Lionel Bringuier at Walt Disney Concert Hall and with the Pasadena Symphony under Nicholas McGegan at Ambassador Auditorium. She also competed in the 2025 Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition.
Hwang is a founding member of Trio Caspar with clarinetist Andrea Caputo and violinist and violist Jason Moon. Formed in 2024, the ensemble received the senior string-division gold medal at the 2026 Fischoff Competition, along with the Lift Every Voice and Horszowski Trio prizes. The trio has performed Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time with cellist Gary Hoffman and appeared on Chicago’s Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts series.
Hwang earned her bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University, studying with Ick-Choo Moon. At the Colburn Conservatory, she studied with Fabio Bidini, earning an Artist Diploma and a Master of Music degree.
