Amelia Sze

Violinist Amelia Sze is currently pursuing her Artist Diploma at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where she studies with Martin Beaver. She previously received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, studying with Li Lin, and earned her Master of Music degree from Colburn. She is a recipient of the Lily Z. Foldes Award.

A quarterfinalist at the Isang Yun International Violin Competition and semifinalist at the Stradivarius International Violin Competition, Sze was also awarded First Prize in the Classics Alive National Competition. She made her Carnegie Hall debut at age sixteen and has appeared as soloist with the Santa Maria Philharmonic, Palisades Symphony, and Eastern Sierra Symphony.

Sze has performed throughout the United States and internationally, including appearances in Germany and Poland and a broadcast performance on CBC Radio One in Canada. Recent engagements include solo performances at Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles, the MOCA Distinguished Women in the Arts Awards Ceremony, and the Isang Yun Symposium.

An active chamber musician, Sze has performed alongside Richard O’Neill, Arnaud Sussmann, Lawrence Dutton, Philip Setzer, Sasha Cooke, and Antonio Lysy. She has spent summers at Music Academy of the West, the Moritzburg Festival Academy, and Morningside Music Bridge, and has worked with artists including Midori, Noah Bendix-Balgley, and Ning Feng. She has also performed professionally with the San Diego Symphony.
