The Terra String Quartet won the 2025 Naumburg Chamber Music Competition following the December 9 final at the Morgan Library & Museum. Kodachrome, a saxophone quartet, and the piano trio Trio Eris were the other finalists.
First prize carried $15,000, a fully subsidized New York recital and a commissioned work.
Terra appeared at San Francisco Conservatory of Music on April 3, 2026, through its partnership with Naumburg. The quartet’s Carnegie Hall debut is scheduled for February 9, 2027, with a new Naumburg commission on the program.
