Naumburg at 100: A Legacy of Greatness, a documentary made to celebrate our 100th year, has been selected for the 2026 Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame Music Documentary Film Festival. The film also received semifinalist recognition from Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival.

The 27-minute documentary follows a century of Naumburg competitions through the musicians whose careers they helped launch. Among those featured are Julia Bullock, John Corigliano, Leonidas Kavakos, Sir Stephen Hough and Carol Wincenc. Tambini produced and directed the film; Allan Miller is its executive producer.

A September screening in Stony Brook

The Long Island festival will present the film on Saturday, September 26, in a screening block beginning at 12:15 p.m. at the Hall of Fame in Stony Brook, New York. The program pairs it with Till the Last Note, a documentary about opera singers in the later stages of their careers. A conversation with Tambini follows the screening.

The festival lists the Naumburg film as a world premiere. Its subjects include musicians with close ties to the area: Wincenc teaches at Stony Brook University, and the Emerson String Quartet has a long association with the university’s music department. The festival runs September 25–27.

Tickets for the September 26 screening are available through the Hall of Fame.

Rhode Island

Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival named the documentary a semifinalist in July. It was not included in the festival’s 2026 screening program, but the designation places it under consideration for other Flickers programming during the coming year.
