Louisiana 태생 첼리스트 John-Henry Crawford는 “세련된 카리스마”와 “노래하는 소리”(Philadelphia Inquirer)로 찬사를 받았습니다. 2019년 제9회 International Carlos Prieto Cello Competition에서 1위를 차지하고 Classical Recording Foundation의 Young Artist of the Year로 선정되었습니다. 2021년 National Federation of Music Clubs의 2021-2023 Young Artist in Strings로 선정되었고 2023년 American Recital Debut Award 수상자로 Carnegie Hall에 데뷔했습니다.

앨범 스트리밍 횟수는 300만 회를 넘습니다. Corazón: The Music of Latin America(Orchid Classics – 2022년 6월)는 Billboard Classical Charts 5위에 올랐고 Gramophone Magazine의 Editor’s choice로 선정되었습니다. 데뷔 앨범 Dialogo(Orchid Classics - 2021년 6월)와 Voice of Rachmaninoff(Orchid Classics – 2023년 6월)도 Billboard Top 10 Classical 차트에 올랐습니다. 2024년 6월 San Francisco Ballet Orchestra 및 Martin West와 녹음한 Dvořák와 Tchaikovsky 협주곡으로 첫 협주곡 앨범을 발매했습니다.

15세에 Curtis Institute of Music에 입학한 뒤 The Juilliard School에서 음악석사, Manhattan School of Music에서 Artist Diploma를 마쳤습니다. 미국 25개 주와 Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Mexico, Switzerland에서 연주했으며 공연장에는 Paris의 The Auditorium du Louvre와 Dresden의 Volkswagen’s Die Gläsern Manufaktur 등이 있습니다. The Philadelphia Orchestra의 Greenfield Competition 1위 수상자로 이 오케스트라와 협연 데뷔를 했습니다.

음악가 집안 출신으로, 1938년 Kristallnacht를 피한 할아버지 Dr. Robert Popper가 Austria에서 몰래 반출한 희귀한 Homolka 첼로와 1790년 Tourte ‘L’Aîné’ 활을 사용합니다. 음악 외에는 언어 배우기, 마술, 사진을 즐깁니다.
