첼리스트 Gabriel Martins(1998년생)는 세계에서 가장 주목받는 젊은 음악가 중 한 명으로 자리 잡았습니다. Concert Artists Guild/Young Classical Artists Trust 대상, Sphinx Competition 금메달, David Popper International Cello Competition 금메달, International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians 은메달, Schadt String Competition 금메달, Orford Music Award, Prague Spring Czech Music Fund Prize 등 폭넓은 수상 경력으로 예술성을 인정받았습니다. 이러한 성공으로 Merkin Hall, Wigmore Hall, 92nd Street Y, Moscow Conservatory의 Great Hall에서, 그리고 Arkansas, Greensboro, Houston, Indianapolis, Memphis, Montréal, New Russian State, Omaha, Pacific, Phoenix, San Francisco, São Paulo 교향악단 등과 주목할 만한 데뷔를 했습니다. 2022년 The Strad Magazine은 92Y에서의 Bach 작품만으로 구성된 리사이틀을 “흠잡을 데 없는 연주... 깊이 감동적인 경험”이라고 평했으며 Classic FM은 “30 under 30” Rising Stars 중 한 명으로 선정했습니다. 데뷔 음반 “Bach I”는 2023년 발매되었으며 2024년 완성 예정인 Bach Cello Suites 전곡 작업의 시작입니다. Aspen, Bard, Brevard, Chamberfest Cleveland, Four Seasons, La Jolla, Mainly Mozart, Ravinia, Yellow Barn 등의 음악제에 출연했습니다. Indiana주 Bloomington에서 성장했으며 Indiana University의 Susan Moses, USC Thornton School of Music의 Ralph Kirshbaum, New England Conservatory of Music의 Laurence Lesser에게 배웠습니다. USC 1학년 때 교내 협주곡 콩쿠르와 Bach 콩쿠르 모두에서 우승했습니다. 현재 South Carolina주 Charleston에 거주합니다. 연주 외에 작곡, 편곡, 교육도 합니다. 약 1690년 Cremona에서 제작된 복합 구성의 Francesco Ruggieri 첼로와 약 1880년 Paris에서 제작된 François Nicolas Voirin 활을 사용합니다.
